I’m 16 right now and plan to start homeschooling next year (when i’m 17). I was going to do this at a british online school but i want to go to college in the US. i know school systems are different but i was thinking i could take the SAT’s and hopefully get into college that way. Now here’s the thing. I’m not a US citizen. can i still take the SAT’s and maybe get into university? I understand that i may need provide the college i want to go to with a transcript of the work i’ve done with homeschooling. I moved around a lot and was placed a grade lower when i went to school because i didnt speak the language of the country i was in, so i thought homeschooling would be so much easier since i move around a lot.
help much appreciated.
Yes, you shouldn’t have any problem with this, although you may need to explain it. Many students in the U.S. are homeschooled, and many high schools are starting online classes. The bigger problem is figuring out the equivalencies for the A levels and the G-whatevers, but there are people at the universities trained to do that. Look at the websites of some schools you’re interested in- the International Programs page should have the information on applying.
